You'll prepare for a career in law enforcement*, government, state and federal agencies or the private sector.

You'll learn to work in our multi-cultural society, with an emphasis on the importance of ethics in the workplace. You'll gain both theoretical and practical knowledge from instructors with professional, real-world experience. During your study, you'll take courses in subjects as compelling as Crime Scene Investigation, Digital Crime and Digital Terrorism, Ethics in Criminal Justice and more.

Careers

You will be prepared to begin a career in the following areas:

  • Loss Prevention (Opportunities are typically within the private sector and include such industries as Retail, Healthcare, Hospitality, Insurance, Education, Financial Institutions, and more)
  • Private Security and Protection Services (Opportunities with local and national companies include such duties as Uniformed Guarding Services, Patrols and Inspections, Concierge and Receptionist Services, and more)
  • Government Agencies and Law Enforcement (Agencies at the federal, state and local levels need well-trained candidates for positions with Correctional Departments, Municipal Facilities, Police Departments, Emergency Call Centers, and more)

There are many other career opportunities available. In addition to the career paths listed above, some Criminal Justice majors go on to work in social work, government or risk management, or go on to pursue advanced degrees.
